Boys Varsity 2/1/2021

The BSHS Ice Hockey Club celebrated Senior Night on Friday with an 8-3 win over Morland New Hope. The scoring was led by Senior Captain Matt Brozey who put in an incredible 5 goals in just one period. Also, all 8 Seniors on the team registered at least 1 point in the victory. Congratulations to the team and our Seniors on a great win!

 

 

Boys Varsity  1/11/2021

Bishop Shanahan Varsity Ice Hockey team is pleased to announce that Matt Brozey has been named Captain along with Patrick Edgecumbe and Ryan Miller as Assistant Captains for the 2020-21 season.  Our captains led the team an unbeatable come from behind 5-4 victory against Sun Valley on Friday night to kick off the start of the season.

Girls Varsity  2/21/2020

The Girls Ice Hockey team recorded another win on Thursday, February 20th against Unionville,  Amanda Wallace lead the scoring with 2 goals and an assist, with Susie Roselli contributing 2 assists.  Come out to cheer on the girls versus Buxmont Catholic this Friday the 28th at Iceline, Gametime 8:30 PM.

Girls Varsity - 2/10/2029

The girls ice hockey team logged another win (6-2) Friday night against Pennridge.  Gracie Jermyn led the Eagles with 2 goals and an assist.  Don't miss an opportunity to watch the Shannypuck Girls play.  Next game is Friday, February 21, 7:45 at Iceline

Boys Varsity - 01/31/2020

The Bishop Shanahan Boys Varsity Ice Hockey team celebrated Senior Night with a 5-1 victory over Interboro. The team is on a roll having won 6 out of their last 7 games. In front of a rowdy, packed house, Matt Brozey led the Eagles with 2 goals. While Tristan Fallon and Ryan Miller each recorded a goal.  Goalie Domenic Veneziale turned in another strong performance turning away 21 of 22 shots.  We would like to thanks our Seniors Captain Ryan McCarthy, Asst. Captain Colin O’Donnell, Susie Roselli and Domenic Veneziale and wish them continued success in their future endeavors.

The Bishop Shanahan Varsity Ice Hockey team continued their winning ways on Friday night with a 8-2 victory over the Harriton Rams. Patrick Edgecumbe and Tristan Fallon each scored 2 goals with Matt Brozey, Matt Fee, Pierce Mallon and Colin O’Donnell each netting a goal. Be sure to catch all the action and support the team for Senior Night on Friday at 7:45 PM at Ice Line in West Chester as the Eagles take Interboro.

Girls Varsity - 01/22/2020

The girls logged a 7-2 win Monday night against West Chester East-Great Valley. The girls had contributions from Shanahan Senior Shelby Kreger and Freshman Gracie Jermyn.

 

 

Boys Varsity - 01/14/2020

Shanahan’s Varsity Ice Hockey team recorded their 10th win of the season with a 8-4 victory over Archbishop Carrol.l on Friday night. Sophomore Tristan Fallon lead the team in scoring with an incredible 4 goals and an assist, followed by Patrick Edgecomb with 2 goals, Matt Brozey with a goal and 2 assists and Jake Mulhern with a goal and an assist. Please come out and support the team at their next game against Great Valley this Friday at 8:20 PM at Ice Line in West Chester.

Shanahan Wins Big Over Marple Newtown

The Shanahan Boy’s Varsity Ice Hockey team successfully defended their #1 spot in the division with an 8-1 victory over Marple-Newtown.  This was truly a team effort with 7 skaters chipping in 8 goals. The scoring was lead by Defenseman Matt Brozey who scored 2 goals and 1 assist. Matt is currently ranked 2nd in total points among defensemen in the ICSHL league. Goals were scored by Patrick Edgecumbe, Matt Fee, Owen Lawlor, Pierce Mallon, Ryan Miller and DJ Welch. If you have not made it out to support the team you are missing some great action. Be sure to catch the next game on Friday, 12/13 at 9:15 pm at the Westown PNY rink in West Chester.

Boys Varsity - 11/21/2019

Bishop Shanahan took over 1st place in their division division on Monday night and improved their record to 5-1 with an 8-3 victory over Harriton. The scoring was lead by Center Colin O’Donnell with a 3 goal hat trick followed by a goal and assist from both Defenseman Matt Brozey and Winger DJ Welsh. Come out to support the team on Wednesday, 11/27 at 5:00 pm at Ice Line in West Chester.

Girls Varsity - 11/17/2019

The Shannypuck - Girls had a disappointing loss Friday night to PennCrest Haven, despite the efforts by Rose William (#66) and Amanda Wallace (#2) who had a goal and assist respectively.  Come out Friday (November 22nd) night to cheer on the girls team.  They play at Hatfield Ice vs PennRidge at 8:25 pm.

Colin Odonnel, Matt Fee and Tristan Fallon each recorded a hat trick in a resounding win over Marple Newtown Friday night.  Goalie Domenic Veneziale logged another shut out!  Shannypuck plays tonight, Monday the 18th, at the Skatium at 9:30 PM.

Shanahan Girls Ice Hockey - Update 11/11/2019

Shanahan Girls Ice Hockey routed Rustin Friday night 9 to 4.  Shannypuck was lead by Senior Captain Susie Roselli who had a hat trick and an assist,  Freshman Gracie Jermyn added a goal, and Senior Madisyn Miller and sophomore Rose Williams had assists.  Come out to support the Shannypuck-Ladies Friday 11/15 at 9:45 vs Penncrest at Iceline!

The Shannypuck Boys recorded an incredible win Friday night.  Down 0-4, they scored 5 unanswered goals to win in overtime.  The 3 captains led the scoring; Colin O;Donnell had 2 goals and 1 assist, Ryan McCarthy had 1 goal and Matthew Brozey had 2 assists.

Varsity Girls Update - 11-2-2019

The Shanahan Girls Ice Hockey team is wearing pink to promote breast cancer awareness this weekend.  Come out to support the Shannypuck Girls versus Owen J. Roberts on Friday night at Power Play Rink staring at 10:00 pm. and on Sunday November 3 vs Unionville, 8:10 pm at the Barn -- Chester County Skate Club.

Bishop Shanahan Ice Hockey Club Announces New Head Coaches for Varsity Boys and Varsity Girls.   - September 2019

Coach Wayne Sands will take over the Head Coaching position for the Bishop Shanahan Ice Hockey Club Boys Varsity Program.  Wayne is a level 4 USA Hockey coach with almost 30 years of coaching experience at all levels from mite to junior A and college and still actively plays on 3 men’s league teams in Bucks County.  After an extensive career playing hockey through high school and on several junior teams Wayne was offered a scholarship to Elmire and a college in Canada, but he decided to attend college with a baseball scholarship.  When he graduated from college moved into refereeing and officiated for over 20 years from Mites through Pro, East Coast, AHL, NHL and College D-1 and D-3 as well as Prep School.  Wayne is a member of NIHOA, having officiated Districts and Nationals at every level from Squirt to Juniors.  He was sent to NY to start a career officiating in the AHL/NHL but decided to stay home to run the family business.  Coach Wayne has also served as Director of Hockey for several organizations and has many college and Junior hockey contacts.

“Coach Wayne brings an understanding of game from all aspects including player, coach and official.”, said Club President Mike Veneziale.  “Wayne’s knowledge of the game and his contacts in the sport will be a valuable resource to the Shanahan ice hockey players.” Coach Wayne is excited to continue to build a hockey team that is competitive while learning life-long values that will help each player mature and succeed as young adults. He will develop the importance of sportsmanship, teamwork, and respect among the players.

Bishop Shanahan Ice Hockey Club Girls Varsity Program will have coach Jeff Wallace will take over the head coaching position.  Jeff is a level 4 USA Hockey coach and will be joined on the bench by Mark Jermyn and Mandy Adamson who previously held the head coaching position for the past two years.  Jeff has 8 years of assistant coaching experience with the Junior Flyers Tier II Girls program and has a passion for teaching players of all skill levels.  Coach Wallace is excited to continue the success of his predecessors and looks to build a competitive team for years to come.

“We are excited about our coaching for the Girls Ice Hockey team.” Club President Mike Veneziale said.  “ We have seen tremendous growth and development and want to continue growing the program.”

Anyone attending Bishop Shanahan High School, or a feeder school is eligible to join the Ice Hockey Club.  The club accepts all levels of experience and skills and fields team at the elementary, middle school and high school levels, with both boys and girls participating.  More information is available at shanahanhockey.org.

For the 2019/2020 season, Bishop Shanahan boys will join forces with players from Devon Prep and the Bishop Shanahan girls will join forces with players from Downingtown East High School.
